About Us
We are David Groves and Lesley Howes. We were both keen computer hobbyists from the dawning of home computing way back yonder in the early 80's and neither of us has ever lost that enthusiasm for the world of computers. We are self taught with (ahem) 30 years experience each. An impressive number of years, which means there is very little in the history of modern computing that we have not had first hand experience of.
However, we have not lost sight of what it is like to be a non-technical computer user. We are used to explaining things in a way that you will understand and our shop has a friendly, informal atmosphere which we hope is a place where you will feel comfortable discussing your computer problems with us. In order to preserve this relaxed atmosphere and prevent it becoming a 'techie's' discussion place we do not sell computer parts for those who build their own computers, or accessories for serious computer gamers such as joysticks and special keyboards and mice.
David's forté and main role in the workshop is hardware repairs. Anything from straightforward jobs like hard drive replacement to memory upgrades all the way up to the most complicated laptop repairs. If he can't do it, it's probable nobody can!
David also has a strong interest and high reputation for data recovery from all sorts of media including hard drives, cd disks, memory sticks and camera cards. So if you think your data is lost, give him a call to discuss it.
Lesley's favourite work is anything software related such as virus removal, email problems, wireless set up, software installation, antivirus software installation, windows problems, error messages, update problems, slow running and many others. Her computer tune up and health check will bring your computer back to its full potential and give it a new lease of life. She recommends a health check once a year in conjunction with a new antivirus program.
